Is Wix Hosting Good?

Is Wix hosting good?

We live in an era where technology literacy is becoming a common-place occurrence. Where not long ago, the average person wouldn’t know where to begin with designing and hosting a website, today there are many out-of-the-box options available for folks to get a website up and running within minutes.  This includes purchasing a domain, designing a website, connecting the website to the domain, and hosting the website.  Some of the more popular turnkey website design solutions include Wix, Weebly, and, of course, WordPress. Today, I’d like to focus a bit on a Wix, because people seem to be drawn to its ease-of-use and its large library of templates. However, I’m more interested in the backend, techie stuff, including answering the question, Is Wix hosting good?

A website is only as good as its hosting

You see, a website is only as good as its hosting. Having great looking website with poor hosting is like having a brand new Camaro with a lawnmower engine under the hood. For some people, hosting isn’t a major issue because their website doesn’t do a lot of heavy lifting.  However, if you have a site with the potential to draw a lot of traffic, you’ll definitely want to ensure you have a solid, reliable hosting solution. This is particularly true if you have an e-commerce site. And even though you might not have a massive e-commerce site with hundreds of products like Melaleuca or Nike, you still want to avoid cutting corners on hosting. The last thing you need to deal with on your e-commerce site is a site crash due to overwhelming traffic from a great promotion you’re running!

Pleasantly surprised with Wix hosting

From my experience, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the hosting solution that Wix offers.  Wix really is a great all-in-one solution for websites. Wix is a one-stop shop for domains, web design, logos, email, etc. Be sure to fork out the money for their Premium plan. It’s totally worth it. Also, they are always updating their already-large list of plug-ins, widgets, and apps, including excellent e-commerce tools.

So is Wix hosting good? From my personal experience–YES!
